This dataset contains 504 abstracts from human-written research papers published in 2021 or earlier, sourced from the PLOS Corpus. Each abstract is included in its entirety, covering a wide range of graduate-level topics across Business, Humanities, Psychology, and STEM domains. The papers span 18 majors, including Biology, Computer Science, Economics, and Physics, among others.

The dataset comprises a total of 135,712 words, with individual abstracts falling into word count buckets of 400 to 800 words. All texts are non-ESL and are classified under the essay genre. This collection is ideal for studying academic writing patterns, abstract summarization, or domain-specific language use in published research.
